Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the tragic attack on civilians in Pahalgam, reminded the Nation once again of the unwavering courage and sacrifice of our armed forces. In the wake of this, on 21st May, 2025, Honorable Founder Chancellor, LPU and Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal proudly announced the Jai Jawan Scholarship - a heartfelt initiative offering 100% tuition fee waiver to active personnel of the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force), Paramilitary (CRPF, ITBP, BSF, SSB, CISF, NSG, Assam Rifles) Forces & SPG enrolling in LPU Online undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal mentioned, “No amount of salutes are ever enough to honour the bravery and sacrifices of our defence and paramilitary Forces."
This scholarship is a meaningful gesture of national support, launched to honour the bravery and sacrifice of our armed forces after Operation Sindoor, where our soldiers responded quickly and bravely to the tragic attack on civilians in Pahalgam.

The submitted application and supporting documents will be reviewed by the University to verify the applicant's eligibility and the authenticity of the information provided.

ImportantInstructions
- Before applying, make sure you have read and understood all the contents of the University website (www.lpuonline.com), Prospectus, Scholarship Guidelines, and other relevant terms and conditions.
- The application form has different sections and is designed to get to know the applicant. You are advised to carefully and thoughtfully fill all the sections.
- Make sure that you provide your authentic e-mail ID and correct phone number which should be functional during the registration process as all communication will be shared through SMS/Emails.
- Name and other details entered in the application form must be correct and as per your educational qualification documents.
- The applicant should attach all mandatory documents to prevent the application form from being rejected. The applicant's employment proof (as applicable), photograph, government identification document, and mark-sheets should be clearly visible and not password-protected. Documents must be copies of the original documents.
You would be required to upload the following documents to complete your admission process:
- Proof of Active Service (Any one: Active Service Proof / Service Letter / Current Job Proof in Defence or Paramilitary Forces)
- Scanned Passport Size Colored Photograph
- Scanned Signature
- Scanned Copy(ies) of Qualification Documents starting from 10th to highest qualification
- Scanned Copy(ies) of Diploma / Degree of Graduation / Post Graduation / PG Diploma or equivalent as applicable
- Scanned Copy of Valid ID Proof with Photograph issued by Govt.
- Scanned Copy of Residence / Address Proof (if different from ID Proof)
- Scanned Copy of Disability Certificate (if applicable)
- Scanned Copy of Sample of Handwriting (to be referred in examination)
Note: You need to scan the original documents, not the photocopies.
Incomplete, ineligible, or unverifiable applications will not be considered for verification.
Scholarship consideration is subject to eligibility and successful document verification, based on the completeness and authenticity of the information and documents submitted.

However, in the event that a candidate avails any extra services due to deviations from the academic calendar, non-adherence to progression timelines, failure in examination, change of mind regarding a chosen specialization, or has special requests like issuance of specially needed certificates, the applicable charges, if any, will need to be borne by the candidate. For eg., fee for reappear examination, re-evaluation, programme transfer, change of specialization, etc.

However, if a candidate takes more than normal/minimum duration to pass the programme, including the six months extension, he will not be entitled for the Scholarship benefits for any period beyond the prescribed duration.
